what is the difference between circular pol and linear pol???

hello frinds.. i just bought 39″ gospal dish from ebay. it comes with GKF-D21L LNB. i really don,t know whats that mean? the seller says this lnb for linear pol. i don,t know whats that mean either.i’m kind of zero in all that. i’m trying get signal from BEV. any one know if that kind of dish and lnbs are compatible with bev signal.God forbid if that is not.please help me what should i get? in that case that lnb will fit into its arm??? very very confused…..please help.frined if you wanna see the pic of the dish, please do visit ebay..(search for 39″ gospal dish) that way you will better understand me what my problems??

That means the signal comes down in a straight line. Like when kids make a tin can telephone using string. Circular polarity is totally different. Instead of string, think of a Slinky between the cans. Circular polarity also can be either left- or right-handed. This enables the signal providers to cram more channels in the same amount of space. I have no idea what “bev” is but if you called the provider for that channel (Angel?) they may be able to help you. Good luck!!
