Garmin Streetpilot

Do any of you have the Garmin Streetpilot C510 Sat Nav? Is it good?
I’ve found it for £129 with Halfords, much cheaper than anywhere else.
I work at halfords and I say get a TomTom or a Navman they are much better than Garmin.
If you are looking for UK streets only go for the TomTom one UK (£179.99) or the Navman F20 (£149.99), they are very easy to use.
But if you are looking for European streets go for the TomTom one European (£199.99) or the Navman N60i (About £349.99)
We have two new LG ones they are also good look at them before picking anything.
Go to your nearest store and look at them. Good luck

How do I update the maps on my Garmin Streetpilot i5?
I have a streetpilot i5, I see there are maps on Garmin’s website for 130 or so dollars, but I don’t want to spend that if it doesn’t continually update the maps. Does it just update them once and then 5 years from now I have to spend another 130 to update them again?
Usually you get a free year’s worth of map updates, and then you’ll be charged.
They have to buy the map data from others typically but they do charge a lot above and beyond what I think they pay.
